Profile Pictures should be the logo for each publication. Upload png file on white or transparent background and it will look like this:
Cover Image: Use this for promotions, informational space, highlight the featured article. Examples: A graphic with the Great Play Giveaway as the cover image for PRB, Camp, and Northstar Pubs. Deadline highlighted, and easy URL or short link very prominent.
*Call To Action Button: Currently, all are [Send Message], change to [Sign Up] and link to email newsletter signup forms in MailChimp for each publication.
Posting: 80/20 rule-> 80% promotion, 20% sharing. Sharing can me posting information related to the business but not directly promoting the magazines. McCall, for instance, can post city events, news from the mayor, photos from staff while out and about that illustrate life in McCall. PRB can post quotes about being outdoors, statistics, business info, etc. Use Facebook page to be a resource outside of solely the magazine content.
Avoid Links in Posts - Copy and paste the link in the post to generate a preview, then delete the link out of post text. You can swap photos if the preview doesn’t display the desired image. Tag pages of partners involved in the article or the news item. The more FB pages tagged, the more the post will display to users outside your followers.
No Hashtags
When posting the new issue, rather than use it as the profile image, make it a post. In some cases, links are okay. For instance, this post would share the entire cover image and have post text along the lines of, “New issue is live on the website! Read it here -> bit.ly/shortlink
When needing to use a link in a Facebook or any social post, use bit.ly link shortener. Free. Customizable to a point.

Same 80/20 rule as above with similar ideas for sharing non-promotional materials. IG is great for quotes, lifestyle pictures, stories (polls and quizzes could be held on IG stories to raise engagement).
Get a Linktree or use the MailChimp landing page as the link in the bio. Therefore, one link can lead to more than one specified promotion and landing page depending on what’s being promoted at the time. Using a Mailchimp landing page means another point of entry to the Mailchimp newsletter signup as well.
Never use links in IG posts, they don’t hyperlink so it’s frustrating to users. This is the reason for the landing page mentioned above. That way the single link in the bio does’’t need to be changed, just the content on the landing page, and in every IG post “link in bio” directs people to where they can find out more.
Do not re-post the same image multiple times. With each posting, it will have less distribution and the IG algorithm will not spread your account as far either.
#Hashtags are not only acceptable on IG but necessary. Use #Hashtags in captions wherever possible. Create #hashtagbank of relevant tags for your content/business for easy copying and pasting. Can use up to 30 hashtags in single post.
Follow All Advertisers’ IG accounts
Tag other businesses (if say, mentioned in an article) and/or advertisers whenever possible. Will help with the spread of posts.
